19/365 Saying YES to THE dress!

My dress is in. Not only that - but as of yesterday... it is in MY possession....and it's.... PERFECT (aside from the obligatory fittings that will come later.)
For obvious reasons... I can't disclose what "THE ONE" looks like... but I can tell you that it truly fulfills every thing, feeling and desire I could ever want. When I described what I was looking for -- whimsical, fun, flirty, sexy.....with a casual elegance. What I don't want is to take myself too seriously... to not look like me or like I am playing dress up... What I do want -- is to blow Colby's mind on August 11th, 2012... and I think this dress might just be the ticket. ;-)

7 months from today - I will marry the love of my life at the most magical location... From the moment we arrived for our walk-thru we were both smitten....and every time I've been back since, it takes my breath away...and when I'm away - I find myself staring at this photo and daydreaming about our wedding day. :)

I'm a JEEP girl. I have always been a JEEP girl. The best car I ever had was my 2000 Wrangler - which I LOVED and CHERISHED until it was time for a new car. I still have A JEEP - but it's not my dream car... and now that they have the hard color (glossy) hard tops... I am dying for one!

9/365 The Furbaby...

Jake Ryan - named after the "ideal boyfriend" in 16 Candles (the best movie of all time!) :)
Ironic how even he was the pre-cursor to the real "ideal boyfriend" now turned fiance'.... he will always be my furbaby/best friend... For the last 4 years he has cheered me up, made me laugh, cuddled me, consoled me after a rough day and is always excited to see me when I walk in the door. As he's grown up he has become more independent and less-dependent on me... but this weekend, he curled up on my lap numerous times and fell asleep with his body weight leaning into me - just like he did when he was a pup. In a word - it was heavenly. And a reminder that I need to take more time out of my busy life for moments like that....

5/365 And So It Begins...

I admit it. I am a Starbucks junkie. I love the variety of frothy-deliciousness I can customize, de-calorize and lovingly partake in - any time of day.
Unfortunately - I am no fool. I realize that no matter how many ways I tone down the devilish drink... it's still empty calories - wreaking havoc on my body. No whip. Non-Fat. Sugar-free... Doesn't matter.
Not exactly inspiring when I think about getting in my wedding dress for my first fitting in a few weeks.
So today - I opted for a protein shake instead. Hopefully more filling than a frappuccino... this drink is bursting with blueberries, pineapple, rice milk and whey protein. Delicious and satisfying...yes... but getting me over my caffeinated, high-calorie cravings... not so much.
Still my eye is on the prize now, with only 7 months to go before our wedding day. It might just be a baby step for now... but one I hope to turn into greater strides in the near future. :)

4/365 Sushi Is Good For The Soul

Mmm....Popcorn Lobster on top of Spicy Tuna rolls at our favorite sushi joint in our hometown.
For awhile - C & I would go every Friday night. It was like clock work - our bodies started craving sushi every Friday... It was date night after a busy work week. Then, we got busy. Had different cravings. Went into wedding-saving mode. The lobster had been abandoned. Replaced by other guilty pleasures. Substituted for various reasons/things.
Tonight - we brought our sushi date back! And it was DAMN good! Something tells me it won't be long before we're back... everything is cyclical - isn't it?

Time is just flying by! Got the call last night...and my dress is officially IN! Being that we modified it from the dress I originally tried on... I can't wait to see it in person... I can't wait to feel the way wearing the store sample made me feel...and to be one step closer to saying "I DO!" on my wedding day. I can only imagine that seeing myself in MY dress will only be that much more intense and special because THIS dress... is actually mine! Made for ME, modified for ME...
(And if you're Colby and reading this... Yes baby... my dress really is hot pink and turquoise stripes, with purple polka dots and glow-in-the-dark green stars... just like the kind I used to have on my ceiling in Jr. High. ;-) Speaking of which - we still need to figure out how to do the aisle for the ceremony... since my skirt is just about as big as these wonderful ladies'.... LMAO.)
On second thought... our venue is so intimate - we might just have to change the location to accommodate my dress! It's not too much.... is it? ;-)
Seriously though... I. CAN'T. WAIT. to see it, touch it, feel it and try it on... I can't wait to wear it on our wedding day... and I can't wait to be married to the love of my life! (and if my dress already being in is any indication - it will be here sooner than I think!)

YAAAAAAAAAY! We just got our save the dates in! FINALLY!
We spent months looking for just the right stationary for our wedding... nothing was right. Too formal. Too casual. Too "foofy" Too pretentious. Too.... not "US" so when we found this save the date - it was perfect . Warm, fun - WHIMSICAL! PERFECT.
Since ordering - I have been anxiously awaiting their arrival for weeks! I was so disappointed to get the notification that they had been delivered to my office during the holiday break when our offices were closed... but it made coming back to the office today after almost 2 weeks off WORTH IT!
2012 is the year of our wedding. I can't wait to marry the love of my life and seeing these Save The Dates in person just make it that much closer and more real... and I couldn't be happier. :)

1/365 · Happy New Year's Day!

All is quiet... on New Year's Day!With an incredibly busy year ahead of us... (Our wedding is just over 7 months away!) Colby and I decided to begin our new year with a little rest & relaxation... 2011 was an absolutely amazing year for us... but to be honest, it kicked my A$$! So it was nice to spend the day with my fiance and to take some much needed time for ourselves before going back to the grind.
Hopefully you'll enjoy my journey on Project 365 with me! Here's hoping your new year's wishes, dreams & resolutions come true... And that 2012 is the most incredible year yet!
